High-purity Nitrogen
Introduction
Produced through cryogenic air separation with optional purification processes for trace impurity control, high-purity nitrogen is supplied in high-pressure cylinders, cylinder bundles, cryogenic dewars, or bulk storage systems according to required purity, consumption rate, delivery pressure, and site conditions.
Nitrogen Purity Grades
Actual impurity limits may vary according to production process, testing method, and customer specification. A batch Certificate of Analysis (COA) is provided for verified product quality.

Industrial Applications
Electronics: Atmosphere isolation in semiconductor reflow soldering and thermal processing requiring O₂ levels below 1 ppmv.
Chemical Processing: Tank blanketing and pipeline purging to reduce oxygen concentration and maintain inert operating conditions according to process safety requirements.
Metallurgy: Protective atmosphere gas for applications such as stainless steel bright annealing, heat treatment, and laser cutting where controlled oxygen and moisture levels are required.
Food & Beverage: Oxygen displacement in modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) to limit lipid oxidation and extend shelf life.
Oil & Gas: High-pressure line displacement, vessel drying, and leak testing during plant turnarounds.
Supply Modes
High-Pressure Cylinders: 40 L and 50 L individual steel cylinders for low-to-medium consumption.
Manifolded Cylinder Racks: 12- or 16-cylinder steel bundles connected to a central outlet for continuous, high-flow applications.
Cryogenic Dewars: 175 L to 500 L liquid containers with built-in vaporizers for medium-volume requirements.
Bulk Storage: Stationary cryogenic tanks (5 m³ to 100 m³) combined with external air vaporizers for continuous site supply.
Testing & Traceability
Batch Sampling: Representative samples are collected from production batches or filling cycles for purity verification and trace impurity analysis.
Delivery COA: Every shipment comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) listing verified impurity levels alongside target limits.
Cylinder Traceability: Barcoded tags link each cylinder to manifold filling logs, vacuum preparation records, and laboratory test reports.
Quality Documentation: Each shipment can be supplied with product specifications, Certificate of Analysis (COA), safety data sheets (SDS), and relevant inspection records according to customer requirements.
Storage Guidelines
Storage Conditions: Store cylinders upright in dry, well-ventilated areas away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
Asphyxiation Risk: Nitrogen displaces atmospheric oxygen without providing a reliable physical warning. Storage facilities should assess oxygen-deficiency risks and install fixed oxygen monitors where required, with alarm thresholds based on applicable safety requirements.
Emergency Measures: In case of a leak in an enclosed area, evacuate immediately. Emergency entry should be restricted to trained personnel using appropriate respiratory protection, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) where required.
Packaging
Valve Protection: Threaded steel caps or fixed protective collars are secured before shipment to protect valves during transit.
Export Palletization: Cylinders are secured using suitable export packaging methods, including pallets or protective frames, according to cylinder type, destination requirements, and transportation regulations.
Export Clearance: Ocean shipments include applicable Dangerous Goods Declarations (DGD), SDS, packing lists, and container packing certificates.
Ordering Terms
MOQ: Minimum order quantities depend on cylinder type, purity grade, packaging method, and destination requirements. Standard export quantities can be discussed based on project needs.
Production Lead Time: Standard lead time is 15–20 business days from valve specification approval and deposit confirmation.

FAQ
Q: When is rack or bulk supply more economical?
A: Cylinder supply is generally suitable for low-to-medium consumption requirements. Cylinder bundles are commonly selected for higher continuous demand, while bulk liquid nitrogen systems are considered for large-volume industrial consumption.
Q: How are cylinders shipped internationally?
A: Nitrogen is shipped as UN 1066, Class 2.2 under IMDG regulations. Documentation includes the DGD, SDS, packing list, COA, and container packing certificate.
Q: How much nitrogen does each cylinder contain?
A: At 200 bar, a 40 L cylinder holds approximately 7.2 Nm³, while a 50 L cylinder holds about 9.0 Nm³. A 16-cylinder rack provides approximately 115–144 Nm³.
Q: How long does a cylinder last?
A: A 40 L cylinder at 200 bar lasts approximately 24 hours at 5 L/min or 6 hours at 20 L/min. Cylinders should generally be changed when pressure falls to around 10 bar.
Q: How is 6N purity achieved and verified?
A: 6N nitrogen quality is achieved through advanced purification and process control technologies. Final purity is verified through trace impurity analysis using appropriate analytical instruments.
Q: What certifications are available?
A: Cylinders can comply with ISO 9809, DOT, TPED, or GB/T 5099. Gas is produced under an ISO 9001 quality system, and each shipment includes a batch Certificate of Analysis (COA).
